Spreading the Cuteness

You might already have seen these cute pup pics on my Instagram, but for those who haven’t, prepare yourselves because I’m about to inject some adorableness into your day and spread cuteness across the blogosphere.

Okay you all ready? Great! Time to meet Oscar the cutest Miniature Jack Russell I’ve ever seen.thumbnail_20190916_113800

2 weeks ago, my brother got his children a puppy and I finally got some free time to go visit and meet the little guy.

thumbnail_IMG_20190920_191705_830When I said little, I really mean little. He’s just absolutely tiny, possibly the smallest pup I’ve ever seen. To give you an idea of how small, he’s smaller than my shoe, which is also kind of scary to think about because if you accidentally step on the poor pup, things wouldn’t be very good (sorry for the horrible visual. My brain has a terrible habit of thinking of the worst-case scenario).

thumbnail_IMG_20190920_191705_828Anyway, back to cuteness. As well as being adorable, Oscar is incredibly chilled. So much so that he took one hell of a dog-nap on me (I really love chilled dogs though, that sit beside you and relax with you so I didn’t mind).

thumbnail_IMG_20190920_191705_832Oscar just got up beside me and snugged in and fall asleep for over an hour like this. Which reminded me a lot of my dog (that died a few months ago). She loved to sleep on or near you. If she wasn’t sleeping with her head on your lap, she was sleeping at your feet or below your chair.

thumbnail_IMG_20190920_191705_829I really enjoyed visiting this wee guy. I was so tempted to bring him home with me, but I think my brother’s children would have something to say about that and probably kick my butt for even suggesting it. Hope you enjoyed the cute pics. Oscar’s only 14-weeks old, so I’ll probably have more cute photos of him as he grows and be able to spread some more puppy cuteness across the blogosphere.

As always, Thanks for reading!

The Shop of Nightmares

I’m back posting again. To be honest I had this post ready to be published about 3 weeks ago, but then tragedy struck and I didn’t feel much like blogging (or anything in fact). To keep things short and from getting too depressing, I’ll try to explain how things went from enjoying the summer sunshine to absolute shock and misery, in as little words as I can. Out of nowhere my aunt dropped dead. She wasn’t sick or old or anything, she was only in her 50’s. She just collapsed one evening and died with no warnings. The day before she was babysitting her grandchildren and was very much alive, then the next day she was dead. It was just so sudden and out of the blue, no one seen it coming and left everyone in the family in a state of shock. It hard not to think like this, but its leaves you fearful that someone else might go so suddenly. On top of the shock of my aunt death, the Grim Reaper decided to be a complete a-hole and took my poor wee dog too. Granted my dog was 17 years old and it was bound to happen sooner or later, but for fring sake could death not have left my poor wee dog alone until we all got over the shock and grief of losing an auntie. I might start ranting so I’ll move on before I depress everyone.

Back to the post, before everything happened, I created this short little comic strip just for a bit laugh. It’s based on a few rather messed up trips to the 24hr supermarket I made a night. I’m not sure about anywhere else in the world but after 9pm the 24hr supermarket transforms into a hotspot for the weird and wacky. It’s pretty much a jungle in there, where all the creepiest and strangest people of the night, hide from harsh glow of the city’s neon lights. Laying in wait for someone to thoroughly creep out. Okay I might have got a little carried away there, maybe the people of the night aren’t like animals waiting to pounce, but they can be very strange. Which makes going to the 24hr supermarket when you’ve ran out of milk, bread or tea/coffee for the morning and have no option but to venture inside at night, that little more of a creepy experience. Anyway, for a bit of fun I’ve drawn a few of my strangest encounters with the late-night customers of the 24hr supermarket and made it into the shopping trip from hell. Hope you enjoy!thumbnail_EC88DA09-7A14-4FE6-921D-6A46670129D5thumbnail_DD869ABE-CB8D-4E1D-B6A0-0A042A4482ABthumbnail_58E2D403-93B6-4642-9B87-CBA948CF4558thumbnail_B24BFEF8-12EA-4A5D-A597-26D2C73D5F01

thumbnail_018AEE1F-9628-4293-8D67-0B6A8086947Cthumbnail_FBB6BF16-373A-4E16-9B2A-D0343E3E82FDthumbnail_E74F10F6-7D3D-422A-8C41-FC11804677A4thumbnail_E7A2A60F-63F1-4E88-8055-016A7DB987F5So here we are at the end of the comic strip and the end of the post, I hope it at least gave you a little bit of giggle. All I can say is thank god these supermarkets are well covered by CCTV and have security guards that take no nonsense. If you’ve ever had strange encounters with people in the 24hr supermarket or convenience store and would like to share, feel free to in the comments below.

As always, Thanks for reading!

Stone Art

After spending the last week or so melting in the heat and splashing in the sea, I’m finally getting back to creating another post. The humidity here lately has been really bad (between 75-95%), creating that sticky lingering dead heat that makes doing anything take 10x the effort (also makes you sweat buckets which is kind of gross). So, to escape the horrid stuffiness of indoors that is not unlike being stuck in a tropical rainforest, I’ve been going to the beach a lot lately. While at the beach I decided to take a few rocks home with me and give them a lick of paint, so for old times’ sake I’m going to turn this little activity into a step by step for rock painting. So, without further delay, I give to you:

A Step by Step Guide to Rock Painting:

thumbnail_20190712_111422.jpgStep 1: Find some rocks/stones- Beach rocks tend to work well for painting because they absorb the paint well and it won’t rub off easily. Make sure you to give your rocks a good wash before painting them, because the salt water/dirt might cause the paint to go grainy (also hygiene and all that).

Step 2: Give your rocks a lick of white paint- This is a bit of an optional step and only really needs to be done on the side you’re going to paint. If you have pale rocks you could probably skip this step. I got my rocks from a beach that is known for its dark coloured rocks. So, I painted my rocks white because the colours would have been very dull and faint, if I haven’t. (Let the paint dry before moving on to step 4 or I’ll most likely create a horrible mess).thumbnail_20190712_115859.jpg

Step 3: Stare at your rocks and try to work out what you’re going to paint on them- A little tip here is to try to look at the rock’s shape or outline and think about what it looks like. If that fails think of the weirdest thing you can think of and paint it on the rock. If you’re still having trouble maybe try decorating your rocks.

Step 4: Paint your rocks- Rocks actually make a nice surface to paint on, so enjoy! For this I used acrylic paint because it has very vivid colour and is the easiest type of paint to work with (in my opinion).

thumbnail_20190712_205051.jpg

Don’t forget to make a mess as you paint!

Step 5: Step back and admire your work- Don’t forget to give yourself a good pat on the back and compliment a job well don’t.

Step 6: Create a little gallery for your rocks- A gallery just wouldn’t be complete without some labels.thumbnail_20190712_214201thumbnail_20190712_213941.jpg

thumbnail_20190713_100037thumbnail_20190713_100117Hope you enjoyed this post! I know part of the fun of painting rocks is to hide your painted stones somewhere in a public space for people to find, but I don’t think I’ll do that (might just decorate the windowsill with them). Anyway, I hope this post has inspired you to paint a few rocks yourself and…

As always, Thanks for reading!

One liners

I love reading one liner challenge posts, they can really be hilarious at times. So, after being nominated for this challenge (quite a while ago), I thought it was time to give it a try myself. But before we get started, I’d like to thank POP CULTURE LITERARY for the nomination and apologise for taking so long to respond to this challenge. There’s a lot of cool and interesting stuff over at POP CULTURE LITERARY, so I’d recommend checking it out.

The Rules:

  • Accept and thank your challenger(s) by linking back to their post.
  • Make a post of one-sentence summaries and/or roasts of at least five books.
  • No spoilers! (I will try but no promises)
  • Link back to The Awkward Book Bloggerso she can see your post.
  • Challenge as many or as few people as you want!
  • Have fun!

Right so let’s begin! I read mostly non-fiction books which wouldn’t really work in this post, so I’ve also added five anime to the mix.

Books:

81UvcPHNEPLBlue Planet II– The Book that proves sea monsters really do exist.

alice1898Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland- An adventure where a girl falls down a hole, eats shrooms, drinks potions, ignores the rules of stranger danger and manages to really peeve off some psycho lady by painting her roses, basically some peoples’ Saturday night.

51M0okPhZoLBram Stoker Dracula You can’t help but read it in Dracula’s voice, bleh bleh bleh.

81AlqaFjyaLThe Twits- The book that taught me to seek revenge when I was a child, even if it involves using a swimming pools worth of glue and inducing the shrinks.

91j7w+EJXvLThe Miniaturist- A valuable lesson in not being creepy by making miniature dolls of random rich strangers and their home furnishings, because they’ll freak out, think you’re a witch, blame you for everything that goes wrong in their life and people will be thrown in the canal wearing a boulder necklace.

387145._SX1280_QL80_TTD_The Walking Dead Comic- Man awakens from a coma to find himself in a zombie apocalypse and decides to become a zombie slaying cowboy (Sort of like the TV show but better).

Anime:

1200x630bbDeath Note- A narcissistic psychopathic emo guy finds a note book that literally makes the pen mightier than the sword, which leads to him having a strange relationship with another very odd emo guy and they play cat and mouse then explore bondage.

1200x630bb (1)Black Butler-For the low, low price of one’s soul, you can have an extremely attractive demon ninja slave that will pretty much do anything for/to you (and I mean “anything”).

01e7eb6f5277ed21e158087e5422042cb10c227cr1-561-797v2_hqTokyo Ghoul- Boy gets turned into a half ghoul then sits around drinking coffee with other ghouls, being a hate-the-world and yaps about his life then decides to give cannibalism a go.

173941Durarara- An anime with a headless cat lady biker and where gang violence, knife crime and mob mentality are rampant, but for some reason no one has offed the snitch.

Lucy-Elfen-Lied-horror-anime-manga-37156938-500-375Elfen Lied- Where clothing and limbs are optional but bathing is a compulsory group activity.

Nominations:
At this point, I think nearly everyone has either already done this challenge or been nominated for it. Therefore, I nominate anyone who hasn’t already been nominated yet.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this post, I had a lot of fun making it and…

As always, Thanks for reading!

Animation Makeovers!

Time to have a little fun, over here on The Things I’ve Seen. About a week ago, my niece introduced me to an app called Facetune 2. An app one can use to edit your selfies, to make yourself look stunning. But of course, if you’re like me and not really into that sort of thing, you can find a different purpose for this app. This being, messing with your own face until it looks hilarious, and amusing yourself with your brilliant creations.
After, messing up one’s own face a whole bunch of times, you may start to wonder what else you can do with the app. This is when I discovered Facetune 2 can’t tell the difference between real faces and animated faces and of course being a little messer, I decided to perform a little animated plastic surgery on a few anime characters. But you know, this post wouldn’t be as fun if I didn’t give myself an animated Doctors name, so let go with Dr Kelly Fixenfacer (Dr Nel, for short).

So, what did Dr Kelly Fixenfacer get up to? Well, let me show you with some great before and after photos of my anime patients:

Levi: Before

IMG_E0001I’m pretty sure if you’ve ever watched Attack on Titan, you’ll know who this guy is. He’s a really cool character, however one thing I’ve noticed is that he doesn’t smile a lot (like just look at his photo, he looks like his puppy just died), so let’s fix this.

Levi: After

RMRM9459There we go, now he looks like he’s just thought of a really funny joke. His transformation just wouldn’t be complete without some lippy and blush, so I added those too.

L: Before

IMG_E0004Poor L, not sleeping has given him bags under his eyes and all that sweet eating and lack of sunlight has left him quite pasty. But you know, I believe Dr Nel can help him.

L: After

TXUE5070L’s a new man! Now he’s a beautiful shade of orange, those bags are gone and his new blue hair is so less draining than his black hair. Look, he ever has a little smile on his face. Sonic the Hedgehog would be so proud of him right now.

Strange Anime Girl: Before

IMG_E0008I don’t have a clue who this character is or what anime she’s from, but glob she looks disturbing. Let see if we can fix this a little.

Strange Anime Girl: After

GTGX7573There we go, reducing the eye size, giving her a longer face and drawing on a little bit of a nose, has made her look kind of cute.

Witch of the Waste (Howl’s Moving Castle-Studio Ghibli): Before

IMG_E0009Hmm… ever notice that the slightly eviler witches in Ghibli films, tend to be a little exaggerated (not that this is a bad thing. It makes for some very memorable characters). Yubaba (Spirited Away) for example has a massive head and the Witch of the Waste (which we have here), has so many necks that I’m not ever sure if she has a body. For curiosities sake, lets see what she would look like if we made her less exaggerated.

Witch of the Waste (Howl’s Moving Castle-Studio Ghibli):

NUOT2364Hmm… she kind of looks like the witch from The Little Mermaid, now. Who would have ever guessed that.

Lord Cob (Tales from Earthsea-Studio Ghibli): Before

IMG_E0011Aww… this poor soul doesn’t even have eyebrows or eyes for that matter. Actually, this character is pretty terrifying, but I think Dr Kelly Fixenfacer can make him look friendly and approachable.

Lord Cob (Tales from Earthsea-Studio Ghibli): After

PNIA6800Now, this is so much better. Closing up those eye holes, drawing on eyebrows, smoothing out his wrinkles and giving him a beautiful smile, has made him look so much more approachable. Now he doesn’t look like he wants to devour your soul, but wants to give you a friendly hug. His transformation wouldn’t be quite complete, if I didn’t give him a new hairdo, too.

Hopefully you’ve made it to the end this post without passing out, from laughing too hard at my creations. Scary thing is, Facetune 2 is a really simple app that even a child could use. Granted, it took me a while to manipulate the photos to look like this, but you can still imagine if someone really wanted to, they could easily use this app to completely alter their appearance in photos and deceive people. Anyway, putting that scary thought of the back of your mind, I hope you had as much fun reading this post as I had creating it. If you’d like me to improve (or mess up) the face of a particular animated character, let me know in the comments below.

As always Thanks for reading!

Finds of the Week

This week has been kind of crazy, everywhere I turned someone wanted my help with something or was looking me to come somewhere in the car with them, to keep them company. Pretty sure at this point, I’ve travelled the length and breadth of the country. But sure, I’m not going to complain, it’s nice to feel useful and although it was a busy week it was also kind of fun.

Unfortunately, this has meant I haven’t had a great deal of time to work on stuff for this blog. So, instead of posting nothing this week, I’ve decided to take this opportunity to try something I’ve wanted to do on this blog for some time. This little venture is called “Finds of the Week” and will consist of some of the cool, interesting or just plain weird things, I’ve found on YouTube during the week.

So, without further ado I bring to you this week’s, Finds of the Week:

Finger dance: BTS- IDOL

This is kind of strange but one has to admit it is rather cool. I have no clue how these people are able to bend their hands like that, but it really impressive.

Chickenpella – Disney

Man plays songs with a rubber chicken, while people sing. Sad thing is this guy can play the rubber chicken better than I can play any instrument.

Tokyo Ghoul – Unravel (cover by Big Marvel)

For all the Tokyo Ghoul fans, I’ve included Big Marvel’s cover of Unravel I found this week. Here he plays the rubber pig and duck, as well as the rubber chicken. (Also, that person in the background staring at him, eating a sandwich is hilarious)

The Life of Death

A beautifully drawn short film about the sad life of death. It would be pretty awful if everything you touched died. I found this film quite a while ago, but found myself re-watching it this week so put it on the list.

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN – Rewrite The Stars (#WITHOUTMUSIC parody)

Really didn’t want to overload this post with K-pop, so was only going to share Rewrite the Stars without music. However, the Fake Love without music was too funny not to share.

BTS – Fake Love (#WITHOUTMUSIC Parody)

If you’re really into K-pop, there’s also BTS- Idol without music (and a few other BTS songs) and BLACKPINK- Ddu-Du Ddu-Du without music. There both pretty strange but funny.

As you can tell this week’s YouTubeing was a little on the strange side (it can be a lot stranger). I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and if you’d like me to make more posts like this, let me know in the comments below.

As always, Thanks for reading.

Finding A Little Animation

While searching deep in the memory of my computer trying to retrieve lost drawings, I came across something kind of funny that I had completely forgotten about. It was a little animation I created well over a year ago, when I had gotten really curious about how animation worked and decided to try it myself. Granted this animation is only 4 seconds long and the art work isn’t spectacular (my art skills have greatly improved since then). But, I remember making this little animation and it taking forever (several hours) to create just 4 seconds. Then being all chuffed, when it was finally finished and played through smoothly.

To make it easier to watch I uploaded it to YouTube, but don’t worry I’m not leaving you all to become a YouTuber. Videos just upload nicer on YouTube and load a lot quicker, making it the better option.

It might not be that pretty, but it was my first attempt at animation and I thought it would be cool to share with you all. Looking back on this, it’s rather funny because I made it just after watching Cat Soup and was inspired by the wee boat the cats sail in. All I can say is that it could have been worse, I could have made an animation about that Mickey Mouse impressionist from Cat Soup. Which would have been creepy and messed up on so many levels.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed this little find and if I ever find the time, I’ll try to make another little animation like this one (hopefully it’ll be a little better).

As always, Thanks for reading

Cold, Lost and Left with Sal (Comic Strip Chapter 3)

This chapter is a little more serious than the last 2 chapters. I figured, if I’m going to make this a regular part of this blog. I should do a little backstory, to how Luke and Sal ended up together and should give the story a little more direction. I’ve still tried to add a little humour to the chapter. Hope you enjoy.

Chapter 3: Twinkle Twinkle Little Drone

This Comic Strip reads left to right.

thumbnail_4693cf60-7b78-4286-b245-5c48866e3411thumbnail_0fe68c28-6907-4e04-9cab-043a516d2e4bthumbnail_414fb332-b676-4486-a2ac-124c8c54e611thumbnail_37613052-fed5-4e08-872b-ab420990ad76thumbnail_595906cb-f0b7-49bc-90a4-960e6cd38ba8So, that was chapter 3. Hope it wasn’t too depressing and that you still had fun reading it. If you enjoy Cold, Lost and Left with Sal and would like me to make it a regular part of this blog, let me know in the comments and as always, Thanks for reading.

Liebster Awards and So Much More (Part 2)

Its been over a week since the last award post, so I think it about time I made some more head way through my nomination pile up and created another award post.
Combining a smaller award with the Liebster Award, seemed to work well last time. So, I’ll be doing the same again and respond to two nominations this time around as well.

Liebster Award

liebster-awardFirst things first, showing some gratitude to the lovely Lina for nominating me. Thank you so much for the nomination Lina. I absolutely love your manga collection and reading about your new additions to the collection.
If you would also like to see Lina manga collection or read about manga, anime and other related topics, I would recommend giving Lina blog a visit.

 RULES:

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you
  • Answer the 11 questions
  • Nominate 11 bloggers for the same award in the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family
  • Ask them 11 questions!

Questions and Answers:

Right, time to get this ball rolling and answer some questions.

  1. If you could nominate one movie for best movie, what movie would you nominate and why?

“Catch Me If You Can” hands down. It’s just mind-bogglingly amazing. I’ve watch it so many times and never bore of it (I hate repetition, so that’s saying something).
The chase between Frank and the FBI agent is incredibly suspenseful. Frank comes very close to being caught so many times, but somehow always manages to escape. Usually, just before the FBI realises he’s the guy they’re looking for.
The fact the movie’s based on an actual guys life, just makes it all the more baffling. Doctor, lawyer, a co-pilot, it really makes you wonder, how on earth he got away with it, for so long.
(Did I forget to mention; the gorgeous Leonardo DiCaprio is in it)

  1. Do you have an artist that makes your little body wobble around?

Hehe, there’s quite a few, but I feel like too much of a creep to provide a list. All I’ll say is, Bruno Mars and Hozier are very high up in that list.
Their voices give me Goosebumps, they’re just so beautiful and smooth (getting too creepy? Okay, I’ll stop and move onto the next question).thumbnail_60f31416-115f-4085-a8bb-6e51bba31fec

  1. Give me a suggestion of a manga one should read. And if you don’t read manga, say an anime that is adapted from a manga one should watch.

Manga and comic books aren’t that popular here. You only really get the popular ones, like Death Note, Tokyo Ghoul, Black Butler and Naruto (and the odd BL one, hidden amongst the romance novels). I’m pretty sure most people would have heard of them before, so I’m going to suggest a less known anime, that’s adapted from a manga. Elfen Lied (Elves song), because it’s the only one I can think of at the minute.

  1. F**k, how am I gonna make it to 11?

With great strength and determination.

  1. F**k do I know?

Oops, I guess the last question was rhetorical.

  1. Have you ever been singing karaoke? What did you sing? If you haven’t, would you like to?

I was at karaoke when I was younger and braver/had less sense.
My friends were all singing country, so to not to spoil the mood I sung Dolly Parton – Nine to Five (always a crowd pleaser).

  1. I have always wondered what people think about acapella. How do you feel about it? As I understand it you need woolen hats and leather straps and a black dude singing really low tones. Is that true? What do you think about it?

It’s weirdly mesmerising. It’s the kind of thing you don’t know what the fudge is going on, but you want to stick around to see what happens.

  1. What’s your favorite pizza?

thumbnail_ed9a15c1-a86c-43fc-b064-207c14af0c2cThin crust with Pepperoni and Jalapenos and hot sauce to dip the crusts in. The spicier the better.

  1. What is the strangest pizza you have ever heard of/eaten?

Strangest Pizza Eaten: Tuna, canned mandarin oranges and onions. It was a very weird flavour experience.
Strangest Pizza I’ve seen: It’s a toss-up between dessert pizza topped with chocolate sauce, marshmallows and chocolate fudge brownies and the Indian curry pizzas, you get in some of the take-aways here.

  1. Who is your favorite super hero and why?

Batman, because he doesn’t have superpowers and still manages to kick butts. Also, batman’s villains are so much more interesting and likeable, than other superheroes.

  1. What would said super hero sing at your night out at the karaoke bar and what would their choice of drink be?

thumbnail_eb206f48-8f29-4846-b46a-583a33aba115Na na na na batman, of course.
We’d both be Teetotal, drinking Lemonade all night. There’s no way I’m hanging out with batman and not taking the batmobile for a little joyride after. (Batman never drinks and drives.)

The Unique Blogger Award

unique-blogger-awardThank you very much Strange Girl Gaming, for the nomination. Strange Girl Gaming has a really cool game review blog. If you enjoy gaming and hearing about awesome new games, I would highly recommend checking their blog out.

Rules:

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them 3 questions

Questions and Answers:

1.If you could swap lives with any fictional character who would it be and why?

The Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland. Firstly, I get to live in Wonderland (which would be so awesome), I’d be magical, able to teleport and turn invisible and I’d always have a smile on my face. Also, the life of a cat is pretty sweet. You can go where you please and people feed you just because you’re cute and fluffy.
Oh yeah and the Cheshire cat is very wise.thumbnail_322ca966-711d-4da0-8e5b-d41bd230fd6c

2.What is your favourite animal?

Dogs. Can’t beat spending time with a big old cuddly dog. They’re just so adorable. It’s almost as good as spending time with a big old cuddly human.

3.What did you dream of being when you were a kid?

Haha, it’s kind of embarrassing, but when I was a child I loved playing house, and I dreamt of being a Mummy and cook the dinner (Glob, I’m so embarrassed. I was like a 50’s housewife). It’s rather funny to think about now, because I really wouldn’t make the best of mothers. If the kid told me there’s a monster in their closet, I’d probably be a little freaked out myself and have to find someone else to go check.
I was so naïve as a child. Thank goodness, I have some sense now.

Nominations:
Since I still have a few awards to respond to, I’m leaving nominations until the last post.

Hope you’ve enjoyed another award post. I’m off now to hide my little embarrassed face in a pillow and cringe at my childhood dream of being a 50’s housewife.
As always Thanks for reading

Liebster Award and So Much More

thumbnail_2df22584-b345-4881-9653-2e71ab22b5d0Being busy these last few months, I sort of accidentally let awards pile up. A big oops on my behalf. I didn’t realise it was nearing to double figures, until I checked and seen the long list of awards, I was meaning to respond to. As a small blog, I feel rather bad about that, therefore I’d like to apologise to anyone who nominated me, for taken ages to respond.

To make up for this huge oversight, I’m going to create a few award posts (maybe one a week), responding to Awards. So, without further delay, I’m going to dive right and start making some award posts.

Liebster Award

img_5527(I’ve been nominated a few times for the Liebster Awards, but since it’s sort of long, I’ll respond to them one at a time to keep post short.)

First things first, I’d like to thank Ami Cyberspace for the nomination. Ami also creates art on her blog. I personally love Ami’s work (especially her Jack Frost, it’s my favourite). She has a lot of talent and makes some very cute pieces, so I highly recommend everyone check her blog out.

Rules:

  • Acknowledge the blogger who nominated your blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions.
  • Nominate 11 other new bloggers for encouraging them
  • Ask them 11 questions
  • Let them know you have nominated them.

Questions and Answers:

1.What is the one thing you wish people knew about you?

Hmm, that’s a tough one. To be honest, I really can’t think of anything I’d want people knowing about me.
Maybe that I’m an awkward old soul, but that’s pretty obvious after spending 5 minutes with me (Glob, my awkwardness even bleeds through in that answer).

2.Would you rather be a werewolf or a vampire?

Definitely a vampire. All that hair would be a nightmare as a werewolf. Just imagine the state of the shower drain, if you were covered head to toe in long thick fur. Not to mention, you’d shed all over your furniture and be forever vacuuming it up. There wouldn’t be much time for fun werewolf stuff.

3.What’s your lucky number and why?

The number 2 because good things comes in pairs.

4.What is/was your worst school subject?

I didn’t really have a worse subject. I loved learning, so liked all my subjects regardless of how good I was at them.
However, one thing I didn’t like about my school days, was some of the teachers. Quite frankly, some of them would have been better suited to a career as a prison warden or Drill Sergeant.
Sometimes they would suddenly explode for no reason at all. Even if you were a good student, behaving yourself, keeping your head down, doing your work and getting top grades, they would find some reason (usually a ridiculous one) to eat the face of you, bursting your eardrums the process. It would make you afraid to breathe and even move at times.thumbnail_da165728-a418-42b3-8e4d-05a2b349d534

5.Favourite candy? YUMM

Most definitely Chocolate, I couldn’t live without it. Cadbury, Green & Black’s and Kinder would be my favourites (I couldn’t choose one favourite. I love them all and they all so tasty in different ways, it would be unfair to compare them).

6.What pets do you plan on having in the future?

A raven, called Mogi. I’d teach it to talk (like a parrot) and let it live by my front door, to creep out nuisance callers.

7.If you were a superhero, what powers would you like to have?

Invisibility. It would make fighting villains, so much easier. I could just become invisible, walk up behind a villain and handcuff them or follow them home, wait until they fell asleep and tie them up.

8.Favourite youtuber?

YouTube has changed a lot in the past year or so. I don’t really have a favourite YouTuber anymore. I mostly use it now to watch music videos and get my daily recommended dose of cuteness. Speaking of which, here some kitty cat assassins to help everyone else reach their daily recommend dose of cuteness.

9.What element would you like to be able to control?

Air. It’s my birth element so I’ll stay true to it.

10.One thing you would want to change with humanity?

Greed hands down. I’d replace it with wanting to care for others, less fortunate.

11.How did you create the name of your blog?

It’s kind of silly, but the name “The Things I’ve Seen” refers to reviewing things and also the first piece of advice you get when learning to draw (which is draw what you see). So, the name sums up the blog. I review the things I’ve seen and I draw the things I’ve seen. (I’m definitely not a poet or master of words)

Blogger Recognition Award

I was nominated for this by Jenn, therefore I’d like to thank Jenn for the nomination.
Jenn blogs about anime and anime related subjects. It’s really interesting and a joy to read, so I would also highly recommend checking Jenn’s blog out.

 Blog History
My blog is only over a year old, so it doesn’t really have that great of history. However, I suppose blog history includes its creation story, so I’ll talk about that.
Just before I created this blog, I had to move from living near the city, back to the countryside. Although, I much prefer living back in the slow pace countryside (where there’s more cows and sheep than you can shake a stick at), I found myself very bored. So, I decided to create a fun little blog.
First, I created a blog on Blogger, but I didn’t like it over there, so that blog didn’t last long. Then I came across WordPress and created this blog. Now I’ve been blogging here for just over a year and have no plans on stopping.

Two pieces of advice for new bloggers.
For this I thought it would be nice to give one piece of advice for blogging in general and one piece for art type blogging.

In General:
Be patient. When you first start a blog, it might seem like no one’s reads your posts. It can awhile for a blog to really find its feet. In the meantime, explore other blogs. It just makes blogging so much more fun.

thumbnail_88ae50fb-5750-44c8-a876-98dc28669462Art Type Blogging:
Learn to love and have confidence in your lines. That might sound silly, but I really wish someone would have told me about the trappings of line paranoia, when I first started drawing. I wasted so much time drawing and redrawing lines, trying to make every line perfect. It never really improved my drawing skills, though. Probably because when you’re in the habit of messing around with your line, you never really learn to draw them the way you intended the first time around and don’t gain confidence in your ability (apologies for the self-reflection).
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is a little bit of confidence in your drawing, goes a long way in improving your art.

Nomination:
Since I plan on making a few of these posts, I’m going to leave nominations until the last one. Hope you enjoyed this post and if everything goes well, hopefully I’ll be able to respond to more awards next week.

And as always Thanks for reading
